Thank God all my shows are starting up again. Settling back in the fall pattern already, with Malcolm starting school again and half my daylight hours spent hanging outside a classroom drinking endless cups of coffee. It's good to have something exciting to get back to. The life of a bodyguard? Not terribly exciting, no matter what the shows say.
At least the days are getting shorter. It's good when it cools off a bit after sundown.

I may have made it very clear what my opinion on homosexuality is, and I have made light-hearted jokes and off-hand comments in the past, but in the wake of this tragedy, all that I can think of is how much the families of the dead gays must be grieving. It's really chilling to think about how cold-blooded a terrorist must be to actually attack a defenseless bunch of queers in a reform facility, of all things. Those places are for the benefit of all society.
On a lighter note, I wanted to personally thank everyone who came to the wonderful party that Jacqueline threw for my birthday. It may have been a little more eventful than any of us expected, but almost all of you were great sports about it. It was just nice to have all of our friends together for a change.

Finally went to the shooting range today to try out the new Smith & Wesson police standard released last month. It has a great feel, but I honestly didn't care too much for the sights. It took most of the afternoon to get used to. Besides, if you're not a cop, they're practically priced through the roof. It's just not worth it if you're working for a private agency that generally doesn't cover the extra expense in my opinion, so save your money, guys.
In other news that isn't about business, because god knows my brother hates it when I update about work, I'm excited for the Justice finale. Five bucks says the terrorist bomber from earlier on in the season shows up again.

I just got back from taking a look at the crime scene. The source of the explosion was definitely a pipe bomb: there were shrapnel fragments everywhere, a pretty melted timer for the detonator, and I found traces of potassium chlorate. The reason there was such an intense fireball after the explosion is because the gas at the oven was definitely left open.
So what we've got, basically, is that the bomb was very cheap -- basically your average kitchen bomb, something that could have been made by the rebels no problem without extravagant expense. It's almost not even worth asking around to see if they've been purchasing from anyone, because they probably didn't even need to buy half the materials. They let the gas fire do most of the damage. They could have used a fucking firecracker and they would have done as much damage.
The weirdest thing, though, was that I couldn't find any human traces in the house. No bone shards, teeth, hair, fat, any of the usual. I'll take a look at what the police have dug up to see if they took any evidence from the scene, but at the moment I'm suspicious. Thoughts?

Blitzkrieg? What a fucking bunch of poser hacks.

It got a little exciting in the slums last night. Working on a report, Michael, but I thought I should mention that Casey Fields plays a shitty base guitar.

Look, I need car music suggestions. If I have to listen to the awful pop that the chauffeur likes, I'm going to possibly strangle him, and that would be terrible. Suggestions might save an innocent man's throat. He probably has children. Maybe a sweet little wife at home. Imagine what would happen to them if he refuses to change the dial. He's poisoning my charge's ears with this canned bubblegum music, too, so I have a responsibility to change this.
Anyone?
